Family Promise of Hawaiʻi (FPH) prevents and ends homelessness for families with children. FPH provides a holistic and compassionate approach to help families quickly return to permanent housing and achieve sustainable independence..


The Community Engagement and Development Coordinator will build FPH’s capacity to engage and raise awareness of community members by updating and implementing effective, sustainable community outreach and engagement strategies, increase volunteer engagement and opportunities, and enhance the marketing of FPH.


Key Responsibilities


Community Engagement

  • Increase awareness and engagement among community members through:

    • Outreach and fundraising activities — documenting and promoting compelling client stories to increase donors, partners, and volunteers, which will increase donations, goods, and services so that our clients receive the necessary support to achieve lasting independence.

    • Maintain a strong brand presence through the FPH website, social media activities, email newsletters, and print materials.

    • Create and launch dynamic online and print messaging that increases donor, client, and community engagement.

    • Storytelling — capture how families are impacted by FPH’s work by gathering and organizing photos, videos, interviews, or other recordings.

    • Events — plan and coordinate with vendors, community partners, and stakeholders; attending external community events.


Volunteer Coordination and Engagement

  • Expand capacity and frequency of existing volunteer opportunities.

  • Assist with recruiting, retention, recording hours, and recognition of agency volunteers.
