About the event

Family Promise of Hawaiʻi is preparing for the opening of its new interim housing site, the ʻOhana Navigation Center! This Center will provide interim housing for five families with children experiencing homeless, space for case management sessions, and indoor and outdoor common areas for families to access food, laundry units, computers, books, and outdoor activities!

Volunteers are needed to help complete the following tasks:

  • Painting walls
  • Carpet removal
  • Cleaning of units (such as fridges, counters, and windows)
  • Removal of laundry units from four units
  • Removal of window bars and paint

Supplies will be provided, but additional supplies are welcome:

  • PPE: masks, gloves, eye protection
  • Heavy duty gloves (for carpet removal)
  • Tools: pliers, shop vac, pry bar, spackle knife, 
  • Items: cleaning spray, windex, paper towels, spackle

Pizza will be provided for lunch, but we ask that you bring your own beverages to stay hydrated!
