About the event
Each day, across Hawaiʻi, at least 100 families with children are sleeping on the street, on the beach, in a car, or other unsheltered situation. Family homelessness in Hawaiʻi has increased 20% in the past 2 years — a bigger increase than other populations experiencing homelessness — and more families are at risk now.
The solutions exist. As a community, we can — and must — increase our capacity to shelter and house another 100 families with children on any given day. Homelessness in childhood can have lifelong impacts, and children under age 5 are at the greatest risk of experiencing homelessness. Join Family Promise of Hawaiʻi to hear about its latest efforts and this new initiative to ensure that every keiki has a home.
In addition to breakfast at The Pacific Club, you are invited to take a tour of Family Promise’s new affordable housing building for 20 low-income households…
