Family Promise of Hawai‘i prevents and ends homelessness for families with children by providing housing, resources, and support.

Our interim housing sites on Oʻahu provide a free, short-term, and safe place for families to sleep, study, and get back on their feet. Each family has their own room. Families in this program work closely with our case managers to quickly return to stable housing. We serve families of all sizes and compositions, including single mothers, single fathers, two-parent households, and multigenerational families.

Families affected by the 2023 Maui wildfires receive individual support to reach their permanent housing and recovery goals. Navigators assist with housing search, income and budgeting, furniture, appliances, transportation, and more.

A Housing Scholarship helps your family get housing or keep the home you have, and builds the skills to stay housed for the long term. This program is open to families at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. Like a school scholarship, it is an investment in your future. FPH helps with housing costs — generally for 3-12 months, depending on need — while you work one-on-one with a case manager to support your goals: building your income, learning about personal finance, growing your savings, and more.

FPH supports local communities across the state that are impacted by natural disasters, in partnership with the state Department of Human Services, Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency, Aloha United Way, and Global Empowerment Mission.
